Andrea Rowe

Andrea graduated with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy from Otago Polytechnic in 1994. Following graduation, Andrea worked within the Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit at Taranaki Base Hospital. Prior to traveling overseas, she spent time working as a Community Occupational Therapist.
After practicing for approximately 3 years in New Zealand, Andrea traveled to the United States of America. Over the next year and a half she worked in various physical rehabilitation settings within the US.
On returning to New Zealand, she worked for over 4 years as a community occupational therapist for the Taranaki District Health Board (over 65 years of age AT&R team - physical disability). The last three of those years, as the AT&R Senior Occupational Therapist. This role along with ongoing clinical work, included the supervision of staff and ongoing service development. Further study in 1999 saw her graduate with her bachelor's degree in occupational therapy.
In the last 4 years following maternity leave, Andrea returned to Taranaki DHB as a community occupational therapist working as a clinical specialist in complex seating and wheelchairs. During this time she has completed post graduate study in this field.
Andrea continues this position in a part time capacity alongside her new role as an Occupational Therapy provider with Therapy Works.
