She spent 2 years developing this newly evolved service.
Having met and married a Submariner in the Royal Navy, the associated ‘relocations' brought with them the opportunity to work in different locations throughout England.
In 2000 she piloted and developed an Occupational Therapy service with the Accident and Emergency Department , in Plymouth. Then in 2001 she returned to community based working and joined the newly established rapid intervention intermediate care team.
A further move provided an opportunity to return to Accident and Emergency when she joined the well established Occupational Therapy service in Chichester. Then in 2003 she joined the multidisciplinary community rehabilitation team in Bognor Regis.
Upon returning to New Zealand in 2004, Denise worked as a Case Manager / Case Administrator for ACC. It was from this position she first worked with Therapy Works by way of contracting their services - before eventually joining them as an Occupational Therapy provider in January 2006.
