Karen UhlenbergKaren graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Otago in 2000. She worked at Taranaki base hospital before heading overseas to the UK in 2002 for several years. During this time she worked in various physical rehabilitation positions and was responsible for setting up and implementing an older falls prevention service for Croydon residents in the UK.

On returning to New Zealand, she worked for ACC in Wellington, as an Injury Prevention Consultant which involved:

  • Occupational Health advice for employer's

  • Working with employer's to improve their health and safety systems to meet basic standards and primary, secondary or tertiary requirements

  • Implementing Injury Prevention projects and programmes

  • Working alongside other colleagues including Injury Management Consultants, Account Managers and Case Managers

Within this role she attended ACC seminars on return to work for workplace injuries and pain management and employer seminars including wellness, safety culture and injury management. She also has undertaken study towards a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health in 2007.

Karen returned to her home province of Taranaki in 2008 and joined Therapy Works as a Physiotherapist provider.
